The Position:

In addition to being responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of ingredients for Production utilization, the Prep1 position also requires the following:

  • Ability to work independently in specific “work zone”
  • Helps to expedite the Prep line throughout the shift
  • Assists in the delegation of work throughout the line, to increase departmental efficiencies
  • Ability to establish and develop productive working relationships with fellow Prep staff personnel
  • Creates a positive environment, and makes the team stronger
  • Accountable for individual KPI’s. Ability to discuss and offer process recommendations
  • In event of absence, position will be filled by another adequately trained Prep 1 staff member
  • Ability to perform Prep Expeditor position independently

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
  • Batch kitting; the process of bulk ingredient breakdown, weighing and labeling, to recipe and SOP specific requirements.
  • Works closely with Production and fellow team members.
  • Ensuring all paperwork and process data is filled out completely and accurately.
  • Working efficiently and in an organized and clean manner.

    Responsibilities for Food Safety
  • Responsible for completing required paperwork accurately and honestly as applicable.
  • Must adhere to all corporate GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), established SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and all Food Safety policies.
  • Must adhere to all Allergen control programs and procedures as applicable.
  • Responsible for reporting suspicious packages, activities and individuals.
  • If monitoring CCPs (Critical Control Points), must be trained in HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and adhere to approved HACCP plan(s).

    Positional accountabilities:
  • 100% adherence to all recipe design; no deviations.
  • 100% adherence to all company GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures); no deviations.
  • Ability through training and appropriate time in position; to run, adjust, breakdown and reassemble job specific processing equipment.
  • Responsible for “real time” position specific inventory control.
    • Accurate and efficient use of floor level inventory tracking systems.
  • Responsible for any and all line product being put “on hold” or deemed “waste”, as a result of departmental error or inefficiencies.

  • Responsible for any and all line “Down Time”, related to your processing line/equipment.

    Education and/or Experience
  • High school education; or up to 6 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Language Skills
  • Level II: the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally in English as it pertains to individual position.

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Computer Skills
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge or ability to learn Inventory and Spreadsheet software.
