Director of Therapeutic Services

Job Description

The Director of Therapeutic Services is a leadership role in providing comprehensive, evidence-based, trauma-informed mental health services based at the Children’s Advocacy Center. The Director will lead our on-site mental health program and provide individual, family, and group treatment to children and teens who have been victims of physical and/or sexual abuse and to their non-offending caregivers at our Northampton and Belchertown sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide short-term individual and group, evidence-based, mental health treatment to child victims of abuse and their non-offending family members
• Lead ongoing mental health program development and evaluation
• Complete clinical assessment reports with specific treatment/safety recommendations
• Create and follow comprehensive treatment plans for child clients
• Consult with the MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team) on cases as needed
• Assist in providing outreach to schools and the community about the elements of child abuse and the role the CAC plays in helping children who have been victimized
• Collaborate with and support other CAC team members and outside partners
• Supervise mental health staff/interns as needed

Qualifications

• Independent licensure in social work, psychology, or counseling in MA is required.
• A minimum of 5 years-experience in mental health
• Experience working with children required, 3 years in the field of childhood trauma preferred
• Experience with clinical assessments required
• Must have clinical experience with children, adolescents, and families and familiarity with trauma-informed models of treatment in an outpatient setting
• Must maintain licensure and all training appropriate to the field
• Must successfully complete all required background checks including CORI, Criminal Offender Record Information, SORI, Sex Offender Record Information, and DCF background checks
• Other duties as requested or assigned per the Executive Director
