Job Description
Job DescriptionResponsibilities:
- Maintain, repair, and improve manufacturing laser equipment in support of production operations.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on production, processing, facility, and QC equipment. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on manufacturing equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and work instructions (analog and digital).
- Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic systems. Work with power supplies, industrial controls, and high-voltage equipment.
- Perform optical alignment of high-powered CO₂ lasers and YAG lasers, including rail alignments.
- Utilize a basic understanding of CNC programming and G-codes to support equipment functionality.
- Troubleshoot and maintain motion control systems, including X, Y, Z, and rotary drives (ball screw and direct drive).
- Assist in estimating labor time for repairs and requisitioning replacement parts as needed.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and laser safety standards, including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Review equipment performance and maintenance data to help identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
Minimum Requirements:
- Ability to read and comprehend drawings, electrical schematics, and work instructions.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent computer skills and familiarity with manufacturing computer applications.
- Understanding of laser components, including optics, vacuum pumps, high-voltage power supplies, and current control circuitry.
- Experience using diagnostic tools such as DVOMs, oscilloscopes, function generators, and watt meters. Time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. CAD experience is a plus. Military service is a plus.
