Job Summary
A growing organization in Lawrence, MA is seeking a Research and Development Electrical Engineer. This is a new, full-time, onsite role focused on designing, prototyping, and testing electrical systems for new products. The engineer will take projects from concept through production, working closely with a small and collaborative R&D team.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop electronic circuits and systems for new products
- Create and update schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation using CAD and simulation software
- Prototype, test, and debug electronic systems
- Conduct validation, safety compliance, and performance testing
- Collaborate with production, quality, and manufacturing teams for product launches
- Troubleshoot electronics issues and optimize designs for reliability, efficiency, and cost
- Support continuous improvement and product development initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 3+ years of experience in electrical design or product development
- Experience in analog/digital circuit design, microprocessors, and embedded systems
- Hands-on prototyping, testing, and debugging experience
- Proficiency with CAD tools (Altium Designer, AutoCAD Electrical) and simulation software (SPICE)
- Familiarity with I2C, CAN bus, SPI, and USB communication protocols
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
- Experience with sensors, instrumentation, or controls
- Knowledge of UL standards and industrial product safety testing
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm (some flexibility)
- 100% onsite role in Lawrence, MA
- Occasional overnight travel (1–4 times per year)
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $90,000 – $100,000
