Risk Placement Advisor


We are looking for a strategic Risk Placement Advisor to join the commercial lines team with a well established, family run broker. You will design, market, and secure optimal risk solutions for commercial clients. Working with the Account Executive team, you will develop strategies to provide the optimal coverage. You will also lead the marketing and placement of renewal accounts while staying ahead of market trends. This role requires a highly organized individual with keen attention to detail. *Only candidates with property and casualty experience will be considered.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy for marketing commercial account renewals to various insurance carriers.
  • Prepare and submit high-quality, market-tailored submissions.
  • Gather information from the service team and manage submissions efficiently.
  • Collect quotes, negotiate terms with carriers, and present recommendations.
  • Explore non-traditional risk financing options, like captives and deductible buy-backs.
  • Source new insurance products for optimal coverage and pricing.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with underwriters and carrier partners.
  • Compile detailed coverage comparisons and cost-benefit analyses.
  • Present findings confidently with Account Executives.
  • Stay updated on market conditions and industry trends.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Active P&C Licensing is non-negotiable.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial insurance.
  • Technical knowledge and agency underwriting experience is a must.
  • Deep understanding of property, casualty, and specialty lines, as well as carrier appetite.
  • Strong strategic thinking and communication skills.
  • Proactive, organized, and up-to-date with industry trends.
  • Proven ability to manage timelines and deliver high-quality results.
  • Experience with EPIC helpful.
