Position Overview:

Assembly Technicians play a crucial role in servicing existing customers motors and pumps that are sent to our shop for evaluation of repairs and return to OEM condition standards and tolerances following detailed engineering drawings and work scopes for the in-house repairs. They will use hand tools, power tools, air tools and other equipment to disassemble, clean and inspect as well as final build and testing as applicable for the required scope of work. The ideal candidate will have experience in an assembly environment, be proficient in reading/interpreting engineering drawings, and possess the ability to use various measuring equipment with precision. Competitive wage starting at $27.00/hour and comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble components and subassemblies according to engineered drawings, work orders, and specifications.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment to complete assembly tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Conduct quality checks throughout the assembly process to ensure products meet company standards and specifications.
  • Utilize measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize assembly processes and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Assist in inventory management by tracking parts and materials used in the assembly process.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.

Description of Level System:

This structure allows for clear progression and incentivizes team members to improve their skills and experience over time. Regular performance reviews can also provide opportunities for wage increases within each level, promoting growth and development.

Level 1 (Minimal Experience): Entry-level assembler who may have basic training or limited experience. Responsibilities may include assisting in basic assembly tasks and learning shop processes.

Level 2 (Intermediate Experience): Assembler with moderate experience who can work independently, understand technical documents, and perform more complex tasks under supervision.

Level 3 (Advanced Experience): Skilled assembler who can handle complex assemblies, troubleshoot issues, and mentor Level 1 and Level 2 team members.

Level 4 (Expert Experience): Highly experienced assembly technician with specialized skills.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, technical training or certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with hand tools and power tools commonly used in assembly work.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical engineered drawings is a plus.
  • Familiarity with measuring equipment and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting and manage time effectively to meet production deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Ability to lift 35lbs from floor to workbench.
