Senior Program Manager-Portfolio & Planning Platforms
Location: Hybrid – Cambridge, MA
Employment Type: Full-Time
A World Class Company
Osprey Life Sciences, LLC is a leading consulting and services firm specializing in providing comprehensive technology solutions for Life Sciences IT organizations. Our primary focus is on assisting these organizations in effectively and efficiently delivering solutions that support their business objectives and their mission to enhance human health and improve lives.
Role Overview
Osprey Life Sciences is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead and support large-scale portfolio and program management platforms within a regulated life sciences environment. This role is centered on platform-enabled delivery—ensuring that enterprise PPM tools are not just implemented, but actively used to plan, govern, and deliver high-value initiatives across therapy development, clinical operations, and IT portfolios.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience working with enterprise PPM platforms (e.g., Planisware or similar), understands how these platforms support real-world delivery of therapy candidates and clinical programs, and can partner effectively with R&D, Clinical, IT, and Finance stakeholders to drive adoption, data quality, and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Program Management & Governance
- Lead and support program and portfolio management activities enabled by enterprise PPM platforms (e.g., Planisware or comparable tools).
- Partner with R&D, Clinical Operations, IT, Finance, and business stakeholders to ensure the PPM platform supports strategic planning, prioritization, capacity management, and investment decision-making.
- Facilitate portfolio and program governance processes, including roadmap planning, scenario modeling, prioritization, and dependency management using the PPM platform.
- Ensure portfolio data integrity, consistency, and transparency across programs, therapy candidates, and delivery initiatives.
- Support governance forums (e.g., Portfolio Review Boards, Steering Committees) by providing platform-driven insights, reporting, and analysis.
Program & Delivery Enablement
- Manage end-to-end delivery of cross-functional programs that rely on the PPM platform for planning, tracking, and execution.
- Translate business and scientific needs into platform configurations, workflows, and reporting structures that support delivery across clinical and development lifecycles.
- Partner with delivery teams to ensure the PPM platform is actively used—not bypassed—for program planning, milestone tracking, risk management, and financial forecasting.
- Support integration of PPM platforms with related systems (e.g., clinical systems, data platforms, financial systems, IT delivery tools).
Stakeholder & Vendor Collaboration
- Serve as a primary liaison between platform users, IT teams, and PPM vendors to manage enhancements, configuration changes, and release planning.
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions to align stakeholders on platform usage, data standards, and delivery expectations.
- Support change management, communications, and training efforts to drive adoption and consistent use of the PPM platform across teams.
Continuous Improvement & Platform Maturity
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of PPM standards, governance models, and reporting practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve platform usability, scalability, and alignment with enterprise delivery needs.
- Participate in post-implementation reviews and lessons learned to continuously improve platform-enabled program execution.
- Champion a culture of transparency, accountability, and disciplined delivery through effective use of PPM tools.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise PPM platforms (e.g., Planisware or similar large-scale portfolio management tools).
- Demonstrated experience using PPM platforms to support real delivery (e.g., therapy development, clinical operations, or enterprise IT programs), not just tool administration.
- Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of portfolio planning, capacity management, financial forecasting, and governance in life sciences environments.
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven settings (biotech, pharma, healthcare).
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting therapy candidate development or clinical program portfolios.
- Familiarity with integrations between PPM platforms and clinical, financial, or delivery systems.
- Consulting background with experience advising stakeholders on platform adoption and operating model maturity.
- PMP or other project/program management certification preferred.
