RMA Technician – Entry-Level Friendly
Pay: $23–$25 per hour
Location: Acton, MA
Job Type: Temp-to-Perm
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st Shift (flexible start between 6:30–7:00 AM)
About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented RMA Technician to join our growing technical team. In this role, you will inspect, test, and repair returned products to determine the cause of failure and ensure they meet quality standards before being sent back out.
This is a great opportunity for someone mechanically inclined—including recent vocational school graduates—who enjoys problem-solving, working with tools, and learning new technical skills.
What You’ll Do
Product Evaluation & Intake
- Verify return authorization details and product information
- Perform visual inspections for defects, damage, or misuse
Testing & Diagnosis
- Conduct functional tests to confirm issues
- Use diagnostic equipment to isolate mechanical or electrical faults
- Document findings and repair steps clearly and accurately
Repairs & Refurbishment
- Perform mechanical repairs, adjustments, and part replacements
- Reassemble, calibrate, and prepare units for return or refurbishment
- Ensure each repaired unit passes quality control standards
Documentation & Communication
- Maintain accurate service records in the RMA system
- Communicate repair outcomes to customer support and engineering
- Report trends or repeated product issues for continuous improvement
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with customer support for clarification on reported issues
- Collaborate with engineering to support root-cause analysis
What We’re Looking For
- Technical diploma or equivalent experience in mechanics, electronics, or related fields
- Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent attention to detail and consistent documentation habits
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a hands-on environment
- Experience with diagnostics or repair is a plus, but not required
