Job Title: Packer
Pay Rate: $17.50/hr.
Location: Worcester MA 01615
Duration: CONTRACT Open ended temp (2 months, likely to extend based on business needs)
Shift: M-F 7am-3:30pm
JOB SUMMARY:
The Packer works as a member of the production team to pack components for storage in a stockroom or shipment per requirement.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The requirements listed below are representative of the essential duties required:
- Packs wrapped or packaged products into shipping containers, following shipping specifications.
- Seals, glues, nails, labels, and/or bands shipping containers to assure closure and proper protection and identification.
- Assemble shipping containers including boxes, crates, cartons, or other shipping containers.
- Conducted visual and mechanical inspection and maintain inspection logs.
- Escalate any quality issues to the production supervisor as needed.
- Clean and maintain work area and equipment, including tools.
- Other duties as required.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Employee works under general supervision.
- Employee makes decisions within clearly prescribed areas referring matters that fall outside that area to others.
- The employee has little or no impact on the decisions of others.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Dexterity to pack small components required.
- Good time management skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of company quality specification.
- Must be able to operator proper tooling and equipment to pack materials.
- Position does not require any previous experience working with office software.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- No formal educational credentials are required.
- Zero-1 year experience in a manufacturing setting helpful.
- Basic, introductory on-the-job training.

Physical Demands/Efforts
- Prolonged periods of sitting and standing at a workbench or test stand.
- Some moving of parts and from station to station and walking through the factory.
- Occasional physical exertion including some lifting of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to perform repetitive assembly, test, and pack tasks.
Mental & Visual Demands/Efforts
- Work is routine and consistent from day to day.
- Must be able to understand and follow test and packaging procedures.
- Work requires continuous visual effort for extended periods of time.
Work Environment and Hazards
- Some areas in the building are not climate controlled.
- Some exposure to heat, dust or other factors of minor inconvenience.
- Infrequent exposure to hazards that require the exercise of caution with little likelihood of injury.
