CNC Machining Operations Program Lead
Job Description
Job Description CNC Machining Operations Program Lead
Job Type: Direct Hire / Full-Time
A day in this role
At 7:00 AM, you’re on the floor reviewing the production plan across up to 8–10 machines. You align your 6–8 direct reports on priorities, confirm safety checks, and kick off the day’s builds. By mid-morning, you’re facilitating a stand-up to remove bottlenecks, adjusting resources, and updating the schedule in the MRP system. In the afternoon, you connect with a customer to resolve a delivery-and-quality question, then debrief with cross-functional leaders on performance against cost, quality, and delivery targets. Before 3:30 PM, you capture lessons learned, coach team members, and queue the next improvement sprint.
What you’ll own
- Lead continuous improvement plans; run focused team meetings and prioritize kaizen activities across the value stream.
- Act as the primary customer contact for quality and delivery topics; drive timely, data-based responses.
- Assess staffing, tooling, and equipment needs; remove barriers to throughput and efficiency.
- Oversee daily production to ensure safe, efficient output that meets exacting quality standards.
- Partner with cross-functional leaders to review plant performance and progress toward company objectives.
- Build capability through training, documentation, coaching, and performance reviews.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate production personnel to achieve operational goals.
- Analyze KPIs—quality, cost, delivery, productivity, and other operational indicators—and act on insights.
- Embed accountability and CI discipline throughout the machining value stream.
- Occasional customer-facing interaction to support program success.
- Direct leadership of 6–8 team members; oversight of up to 8–10 machines.
