Role Description

As our firm continues to grow, we are looking for a Junior Accountant/ Accounting Coordinator to join our team in Boston. The Junior Accountant/Accounting Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Boston, MA. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who wants to gain hands-on experience in a professional services environment while working alongside a collaborative and supportive group of colleagues.

This position supports the firm’s accounting and finance operations, including billing, processing accounts payable and receivable and posting journal entries. The role includes maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities. The Junior Accountant/Accounting Coordinator will collaborate closely with attorneys, administrative staff to ensure timely and precise handling of financial transactions. Additional responsibilities may include special projects to improve financial processes and controls.

Qualifications

- Strong attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and confidentiality.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred; relevant work or internship experience is a plus.
- 1-2 years of legal accounting/billing experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office and accounting software.
- Understanding of GAAP
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work professionally with attorneys, staff, and external vendors.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and prioritize work in a fast-paced professional services environment.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and procedures.
- Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment is beneficial but not required.
