Who are we?
Cathleen Stone Island Outward Bound School is a National and State Park located in the heart of the Boston Harbor Islands. With a 200-year legacy of serving children in Boston and a 48-year partnership with the Boston Public Schools (BPS), the Island is a beacon for experiential education, empowering young people through hands-on learning and skill building and outdoor adventure and exploration. We are a proud member of the network of 11 Outward Bound schools in the U.S., with a shared mission to change lives through challenge and discovery.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Prepare nutritious meals following established recipes and menus
- Assist with food preparation, cooking, serving, and kitchen setup
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout food preparation areas
- Properly store food and monitor inventory to minimize waste
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
- Support meal service for students, staff, and special events
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries
- Work collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure efficient operations
- Maintain a positive, professional, and customer-service-oriented attitude
Start Date: Immediately
Requirements:
- Full time work schedule of Monday-Friday , 8 AM-4:30 PM ( 7:45 AM @Dock for Ferry pick up).
- All Work is onsite @ Cathleen Stone Island, requiring a daily 25-minute ferry commute to and from the Island and the ability to work effectively in an outdoor, mission-driven environment
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs
- Must be able to be on feet and/or active an average of 8+ hours per day
