Quantitative Consultant – Insurance

An established insurance organisation is seeking a Quantitative Consultant to join its Long-Term Care (LTC) Inforce Management team. This role offers the opportunity to apply analytical expertise to high-impact initiatives including inforce repricing, annual rate certifications, illustration testing, dividend analysis, and wellness programmes.
\n
The successful candidate will work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment, partnering with teams across pricing, valuation, claims, operations, reinsurance, legal, compliance, and external stakeholders. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, commercial judgement, and the ability to translate complex data into practical business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

- Support annual rate certifications, dividend analysis, illustration regulation testing, and inforce rate increase initiatives.
- Develop strong subject matter expertise across LTC products, including product design, data, and how information is used across the organisation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to support key business initiatives.
- Develop and maintain clear documentation covering modelling policies, procedures, calculations, and assumptions in accordance with statutory and professional requirements.
- Analyse data and financial information to support business decisions and regulatory requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve, automate, and streamline processes.
- Challenge existing approaches and recommend more efficient and effective solutions.
- Take ownership of assigned initiatives and deliver high-quality work within agreed timelines.
- Support additional team initiatives as required.

Required Qualifications & Experience
\n

- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, or Business Analytics.
- 3+ years of experience within the insurance industry, such as Long-Term Care, Disability, Life, or Health insurance.
- 2+ years of professional data analysis experience.
- 2+ years of advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office experience.
- Experience working with existing Excel macros and pivot tables.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships across cross-functional teams.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

- Previous Long-Term Care insurance experience.
- VBA experience.
- Power BI experience.
- Financial modelling experience.
- Actuarial certification or completion of actuarial examinations is advantageous.
