Position Summary
The Senior Account Manager serves as the primary customer advocate and commercial owner for assigned key accounts. This role is responsible for driving customer satisfaction, revenue growth, and long-term partnerships within a high-mix, low-to-medium volume manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical and business acumen, experience in regulated EMS, and the ability to manage complex programs from RFQ through production and ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage strategic customer relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for executives, buyers, and engineers
- Lead RFQ activity, including pricing strategy, proposal development, and coordination with engineering, operations, and supply chain
- Conduct contract reviews, negotiations, and ongoing account management in compliance with regulatory and quality requirements
- Support NPI, prototyping, and production ramp-up by coordinating cross-functional teams
- Review BOMs, specifications, and technical documentation to identify risk, cost, and manufacturability opportunities
- Manage forecasts, order flow, change orders, and delivery performance in a dynamic, customized manufacturing environment
- Proactively address quality issues, supply chain challenges, and schedule impacts while maintaining customer trust
- Identify and develop new opportunities within existing accounts, including expanded services and system-level builds
- Ensure account activities align with ISO 13485, ITAR, CMMC, and customer regulatory expectations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA a plus)
- 8+ years of account management or technical sales experience within EMS or a related manufacturing environment
- Proven experience supporting regulated industries (medical, defense, aerospace, robotics preferred)
- Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing processes, BOMs, drawings, and NPI workflows
- Proficiency with ERP and CRM systems (Epicor and HubSpot a plus) and advanced Excel skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and executive audiences
- Highly organized, collaborative, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
