Job DescriptionNow Hiring: Biotechnologist Associate
Location: Portsmouth, NH
Duration: 12 Months (Extension Possible)
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Rotating days, every other weekend
Role Overview
The Biotechnologist Associate (Manufacturing Associate) supports the manufacturing of therapeutic proteins (API) in a cGMP-regulated environment. This is a hands-on role focused on operating equipment, executing manufacturing processes, and maintaining compliance while working in a cleanroom setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute manufacturing process recipes following SOPs and cGMP guidelines
- Set up, operate, and monitor production equipment, including CIP/SIP operations
- Perform basic laboratory tasks: pH, conductivity, sampling, testing
- Maintain accurate written and electronic documentation per GMP/GDP standards
- Perform material movements and transfer raw materials and chemicals
- Support routine cleaning, sanitization, and 6S programs
- Demonstrate proper aseptic technique and cleanroom gowning
- Complete training qualifications and maintain individual training plans
- Participate in shift exchanges, meetings, projects, and administrative tasks
Work Environment
- Cleanroom manufacturing setting
- Must be willing to gown and work under aseptic conditions
- Rotating night shift schedule required
Qualifications & Preferred Backgrounds
Candidates with scientific education, manufacturing experience, or strong SOP-driven backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Successful backgrounds include:
- Food service / Cooks (recipe-driven work)
- Pharmacy Technicians
- EMTs
- Nurses / Nurse Aides
- Mechanical or robotics experience
- Computer & automation skills
- Tech Support
- Security or regulated-industry experience
- Experience following SOPs, guidelines, or industry regulations
- Former Sig Sauer employees
