Job Opening: Business & Finance Manager
The Franconia Ski Club (or “FSC”), a US Ski & Snowboard Gold-certified alpine ski club and 2020 Development Club of the Year, was established in 1933 and is located at Cannon Mountain in Franconia, New Hampshire. Its mission is “to impart the joys of skiing and the life-long lessons of healthy competition to the children of its broad and open membership.” The club achieves its mission by providing thoughtful, caring and professional instruction in skiing and ski racing and by supporting and sponsoring all levels of NHARA, US Ski and Snowboard and FIS racing. The Franconia Ski Club is a registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization. FSC is committed to providing training opportunities to the community, and it offers several scholarships and financial aid each year to eligible families.
FSC’s membership currently stands at 193 junior athletes, ranging in ages from 6 to 19, with an additional 46 athletes represented through a partnership with Holderness School. FSC offers weekend training programs, a Winter Term program for U12, U14 and U16 athletes, a full-time option for athletes competing at the FIS level and weekly Masters training.
FSC is currently looking to hire a full or part-time business and finance manager to join a full time staff of three individuals and also work closely with the FSC Treasurer and Board of Directors. A summary of the job responsibilities is below. However, we can customize parts of the role to fit the ideal candidate’s needs. The position is an in-person role, with some flexibility to be agreed with FSC's Program Director and Treasurer to work remotely during the summer months.

Key Responsibilities
Financial
· Enter and pay vendor bills in QuickBooks.
· Create various invoices and sales receipts for our customers.
· Prepare and make bank deposits.
· Record and track donations.
· Settle all electronic payments and receipts.
· Prepare financial reports for Board of Directors including annual budget.
Human Resources
· Track and record coach and employee time (salary, hourly, per diem)
· Manage payroll with the club’s payroll processor.
· Issue checks to reimburse coach expenses (mileage, licenses, education)
· Maintain employee files and documentation.
· File incident reports.
· Prepare and file workers’ compensation claims.
Insurance – Work with agents to get quotes and place coverage.
· Liability (coaches, employees, and buildings)
· Directors & Officers
· Workers’ Compensation
· Marine land (equipment)
Facilities Maintenance
· Hire cleaning companies (building, windows, and carpets)
· Schedule inspections for elevator, AED unit, and fire suppression systems
· Schedule annual inspections for smoke detectors and fire alarm devices
· Manage trash and recyclables disposal service.
Qualifications
Education BA/BS degree in accounting or finance. Facility with Quickbooks, Microsoft Office Suite, and Payroll services platforms required.
Experience of 5 years minimum experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or related capacity at either a for-profit, education, or non-profit entity. Familiarity and interest with ski racing and the business of skiing a plus.
Specialized Skills Beyond the requisite skills necessary to perform the responsibilities of the job, the successful candidate will display the utmost business integrity and ethics. The job requires the management of the club’s finances, and frequently, sensitive and confidential financial considerations.
Location Franconia, New Hampshire (In-Person)
Full and part-time options will be considered, with a minimum commitment of
approximately 25 hours/week across the calendar year.
