Division Chief Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all clinical activities within the Division and conduct ongoing professional practice evaluations (OPPE) and focused professional practice evaluations (FPPE) for division members.
  • Manage all administrative functions of the Division, particularly focusing on the Ambulatory Clinic, unless specified otherwise by the hospital.
  • Continuously monitor the performance of all individuals in the Division who hold clinical privileges.
  • Integrate the Division into the core operations of the hospital.
  • Facilitate and enhance communication and services between departments.
  • Regularly evaluate and enhance the quality of care, treatment, and services provided.
  • Orient and provide ongoing education for all personnel within the Division.
  • Ensure adherence to the Hospital and Medical Staff Bylaws, policies, and regulations within the Division.
  • Responsible for disseminating information and updates regarding policies and practices to Division members.
  • Perform additional duties as reasonably requested by the Department Chair, Medical Executive Committee (MEC), and the Board of Trustees.
