As a seasoned Level III technician, you’ll be trusted to own the outcome—from diagnosis to documentation—while mentoring others and raising the bar on quality every day.
Your Impact
You will be the face of the Service team, representing the company on rooftops, in mechanical rooms, and everywhere in between. You’ll coordinate with dispatch and supervision, move seamlessly between assignments, and ensure every jobsite is left cleaner and safer than you found it.
Position Details

- Reports to: Service Manager
- Hours: Core availability 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM; after-hours service availability required
- Pay Range: $30.00 – $42.00 per hour
Roadmap of Responsibilities
- Show up reliably—attendance is essential—and communicate with the Dispatcher at the start and end of each call
- Drive a company vehicle, arrive at dispatched locations on time, and relocate between multiple jobsites during the day
- Complete work accurately and efficiently; finish all service forms and daily timecards using the company’s mobile software
- Uphold a professional appearance and comply with the uniform policy; avoid vulgar language and refrain from smoking on customer property
- Participate in staggered scheduling and on-call rotations
- Install, service, and troubleshoot: HVAC systems, boiler systems, pumps, and VRF systems; perform full compressor change-outs
- Run refrigerant piping, install code-compliant condensate drains, and properly charge AC/refrigeration systems
- Install/program VFDs; apply controls knowledge and build proficiency with BAS
- Maintain, organize, and secure tools and stock in the vehicle; keep vehicle and tools clean and report maintenance needs (tires, oil changes, etc.)
- Safely use and maintain hand tools and power tools (drills, sawzalls, circular saws, pipe cutters, shears, chop saws)
- Work safely from ladders (12’ step, 28’ extension) and at various heights
- Follow customer/GC safety protocols and company PPE requirements (gloves, hard hat, safety glasses, and more)
- Prepare jobsites with drop cloths and floor protection; move furniture as needed; keep the site orderly by sweeping and removing trash daily
- Pick up parts from vendors; obtain POs; secure Supervisor approval for tool purchases; use POs only with the specified vendor
- Follow stock removal and inventory processes; complete stock removal forms thoroughly
- Apply advanced practices: triple evacuation, superheat/subcooling checks, charging strategies for TXV vs. fixed metering devices, identifying non‑condensables, oil sampling/acid tests, line-set flushing, and brazing
- Troubleshoot boilers; identify and address likely failure points (pulleys, sheaves, heat exchangers, pump seals)
- Understand chillers, pump curves, hydronic piping/hydronics, and airflow dynamics; purge water systems; rebuild pumps; maintain cooling towers
- Estimate task durations realistically and work independently as required
Qualifications & Certifications
- High School Diploma
- Heating/AC Certificate
- Gas Service License; Lift License
- Confined Space Certification
- EPA Certification
- OSHA 30; NFPA 70E; Rigger and Signal Certification
- Valid Driver’s License and insurable driving record
- Own appropriate hand tools; capable of safely operating hand/power tools
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude; sound math skills
- Ability to complete a full compressor change-out
- English communication skills; able to follow verbal and written directions
- Comfort working at heights; able to load/unload trucks as needed
- Working knowledge of hydronics and airflow; able to perform combustion testing
- Consistently timely, accurate timecard submission

Working Conditions
- Frequent walking, stooping, balancing, squatting, climbing, overhead reaching, talking, and hearing; frequent hand use for fine work
- Occasional lifting/moving of 50–100 lbs.; vision needs include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, and focus
- Exposure to current weather conditions; short-duration work in confined spaces with certification
- Advisable to keep a second set of clothing due to changing weather
