Position Overview

\n

Our client is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting and financial functions while working directly with ownership and management. This role will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, manufacturing costing, internal controls, payroll, and compliance.

\n


\n

Beyond the day-to-day accounting responsibilities, the Controller will be expected to improve financial processes, establish meaningful reporting metrics, and provide ownership with accurate financial information to support better business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

\n

  • Lead the company's accounting and financial operations
  • \n

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reporting
  • \n

  • Improve financial reporting processes, accuracy, and visibility across the business
  • \n

  • Oversee manufacturing costing, including raw materials, labor, and production costs
  • \n

  • Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and financial projections
  • \n

  • Analyze financial performance, trends, and budget variances
  • \n

  • Manage cash flow, banking relationships, liquidity, and cash forecasting
  • \n

  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and related financial activities
  • \n

  • Develop and maintain accounting procedures and internal controls
  • \n

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable tax and regulatory requirements
  • \n

  • Provide financial analysis and reporting directly to ownership and management
  • \n

  • Support future accounting system and process improvements
  • \n

Ideal Candidate

\n

    \n
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  • \n

  • Strong accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
  • \n

  • Hands-on knowledge of manufacturing costing and the flow of raw materials through finished goods
  • \n

  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls
  • \n

  • Proven ability to improve financial processes and establish meaningful reporting metrics
  • \n

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate financial information into useful business insights
  • \n

  • Comfortable working directly with ownership and senior management
  • \n

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • \n

  • Experience within building products or a related industrial environment is a plus
  • \n

  • Supervisory experience and CPA designation are beneficial but not required
  • \n

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary of $90,000 - $125,000
  • \n
