JOB SUMMARY:
The Material Handler/Shipper will perform general stocking labor, including moving freight, stock, and other materials.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Transports freight, stock, and other materials by hand or by the use of trucks to and from various locations.
- Sorts cargo before loading or unloading.
- Loads and unloads cargo using appropriate tools.
- Uses bracing, padding, or strapping to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
- Checks & packs order as they come in.
- Transfer materials from receiving to back room and from upstairs to dock for truck pick up.
- Marks containers with identifying information or tags.
- Stacks cargo where directed using pallets or cargo boards.
- Restocking shelves, makes sure there are always boxes on hand and keeps the area clean.
- Uses daily production sheets or work tickets to record the number of units moved or managed.
