Saw Operator
Location: Sturbridge, MA
Pay Rate: $20.00–$22.00 per hour
Schedule: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Job Type: Temp-to-Perm
Savvy Staffing is seeking a Saw Operator for a metal manufacturing company in Sturbridge, MA. This is a hands-on position responsible for accurately cutting metal materials to specified sizes and preparing materials for the next stage of production.
Job Duties:
- Operate industrial saws to cut metal materials according to specifications.
- Read and follow work orders, drawings, measurements, and production instructions.
- Measure and mark materials for accurate cuts.
- Properly load, position, and secure materials in the saw.
- Set up and make adjustments to saw equipment as needed.
- Inspect finished cuts for proper dimensions and quality.
- Remove burrs and sharp edges when necessary.
- Safely handle and move raw materials and finished parts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Perform other general manufacturing duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating a metal saw, band saw, chop saw, or similar equipment preferred.
- Manufacturing or metal fabrication experience is a plus.
- Ability to read measurements and use basic measuring tools.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
