Salary: $120,000 - $160,000

Key Responsibilities

The Tax Manager is a leadership role responsible for engagement execution, client relationship management, and team development. Responsibilities include:

Technical & Engagement Management

  • Supervise and manage the end-to-end tax engagement process in strict accordance with firm standards and professional guidelines.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate tax engagements, managing firm resources and communicating timelines with clients effectively.
  • Perform detailed, final-level reviews of complex corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns and supporting work papers.
  • Execute specialized tax research projects and provide advisory and consulting services on client-specific tax matters.
  • Maintain technical mastery in various tax areas relevant to client industry specializations.

Client and Business Development

  • Work directly with clients to build, maintain, and strengthen professional relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact.
  • Actively build new client relationships and manage a book of business, including monitoring budgets, production goals, and client profitability.
  • Communicate project status, tax implications, and potential client opportunities effectively with both team members and clients.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Provide effective training, direction, and supervision to junior tax staff and senior associates.
  • Serve as a mentor, guiding team members' professional development and technical proficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

We are looking for self-motivated professionals ready for a significant leadership role.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) in Accounting or a related field.
  • Active CPA certification is required.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of progressive tax experience in a public accounting setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex tax issues clearly.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working on multiple client projects simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of accounting and auditing principles.
  • Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., ProSystem fx Tax), QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
