Position Overview - CDL Class B Driver (Templeton, MA)
We are thrilled to present an opportunity for a CDL Class B Driver within our Commercial team.
This position entails operating our bulk trucks (Mobile Manufacturing Units) and installing blasting products for clients at local construction sites, mines, and quarries, while also being responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the equipment.
This hybrid role comprises approximately 40% driving and 60% physical tasks related to the installation of blasting products. Key responsibilities include loading products, driving a Class B CDL truck, managing hoses, operating control systems of manufacturing units, and climbing on and off the bulk truck in various weather conditions.
Additionally, this role involves operating equipment to deliver blasting products while ensuring a high standard of service for bulk explosives to our customers. We prioritize safety and are committed to conducting all operations in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
Work Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- Local driving (1-3 hours)
- Early morning starts between approximately 3 AM and 5 AM
- Daily hours range from 10 to 12
- Overtime may be required
- Up to 10% overnight travel may be necessary
Key Responsibilities
- This role involves a mix of 40% driving and 60% physical labor
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking and replenishing fluid levels
- Safely connect and disconnect trailers
- Operate emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks
- Ensure raw materials and hazardous goods are handled and stored according to regulations
- Minimize environmental impact through waste reduction and control
- Report any unusual incidents or accidents immediately
- Engage in daily toolbox talks and monthly safety meetings
Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of experience in driving and/or material handling preferred
- Familiarity with DOT regulations is required
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team
- Attention to detail and mathematical skills for daily inventory management
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects, daily tasks, and urgent situations to enhance efficiency
Physical Demands
- Work environment includes outdoor conditions in various weather
- Lifting up to 60 pounds and carrying over 50 pounds of products or materials
- Must be capable of loading products, pulling large hoses, filling holes, and climbing on/off the truck
- Regularly shoveling gravel to fill drilled holes throughout the day
- Engaging in pushing/pulling while working with equipment
- Frequent bending and squatting are also required
Your Credentials
- Class B CDL is required; Class A is a plus
- Tanker endorsement is preferred
- Hazmat endorsement is preferred
- Support for obtaining endorsements will be provided
- At least one year of driving experience is preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent is required

Compensation Details
- Hourly Pay Range: $28-34
- Signing Bonus: $4,500
(Salary will be determined based on the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market alignment.)
