The Household Assistant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the
family's household (located in New London, NH) by maintaining an organized, efficient, and
welcoming home environment. This position combines daily household upkeep, meal
preparation, laundry, childcare support, errands, and household management. The
successful candidate is proactive, highly organized, trustworthy, flexible, and enjoys taking
ownership of a busy family household with two young children. Fluency in both English and Brazilian Portuguese is required, with preference given to native
Brazilian Portuguese speakers.
Primary Responsibilities
Daily Household Upkeep
• Care for the home and its contents with attention and respect
• Daily tidying and upkeep of the home
• Maintain organization throughout the home
• Monitor, organize, and replenish household supplies and groceries
• Anticipate household needs and maintain a running list of items requiring attention
Meal Preparation
• Prepare healthy family meals
• Assist with meal planning and grocery shopping
• Prepare food for family gatherings as requested
Laundry & Wardrobe
• Laundry, ironing, folding, and garment care
• Seasonal clothing rotation and organization
• Coordinate dry cleaning and specialty garment care
Childcare Support
• Provide childcare as needed
• Safely transport children to school, activities, appointments, and events
• Assist with children's daily routines and schedules
Household Support
• Coordinate with the family's weekly professional cleaning service and maintain the
home between scheduled cleanings
• Run errands, including shopping, returns, pharmacy pickups, and dry cleaning
• Receive and supervise household contractors and service providers
• Assist with organization projects and special household initiatives
Schedule
This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The successful candidate should expect to work
approximately 50–60 hours per week, based on the family's needs.
The schedule will generally consist of weekdays, with flexibility required to accommodate
the family's schedule. Occasional evening and weekend work should be expected, with
advance notice provided whenever practical.
This position is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable federal and state
wage and hour laws.

Qualifications
Required
• Fluent in English and Brazilian Portuguese
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• High level of discretion, integrity, and professionalism
• Valid driver's license with an excellent driving record
• Current CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
Preferred
• Native Brazilian Portuguese speaker
• Previous experience working in a private household
• Experience caring for young children
• Experience managing household operations
• Comfortable preparing healthy family meals
• Ability and willingness to work occasional weekends as needed
• Ability and willingness to travel with the family as needed
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation
• $30.00–$35.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
• Overtime compensation paid in accordance with applicable federal and state law
• Compensation is commensurate with experience, qualifications, and the overall scope
of responsibilities
Paid Time Off
• Three (3) weeks of paid vacation annually
• At least one week of vacation should coincide with the family's vacation schedule
• Remaining vacation time will be scheduled by mutual agreement
