Role Summary
The Assembly Supervisor will provide operational direction, daily scheduling, and frontline leadership to a team of assembly technicians. This role is responsible for driving daily production output while maintaining strict safety, quality, and delivery benchmarks. Overseeing a day-shift team of roughly 10 team members, the Supervisor will focus on building team engagement, fostering a safety-first mindset, and driving continuous improvement on the floor.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support floor personnel to ensure high productivity, clear communication, and a strong safety culture.
- Assist with talent acquisition by promoting openings, interviewing candidates, and leading onboarding for new hires.
- Identify skill gaps, create cross-training plans, and offer ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
- Oversee daily floor operations, establish production goals, assign tasks, and monitor progress toward daily targets.
- Serve as a key contact for associate relations and collaborate with HR to resolve workplace issues constructively.
- Enforce facility safety protocols, lead inspections, address hazards immediately, and participate in incident reviews.
- Work closely with production scheduling, inventory, and logistics teams to meet on-time delivery goals.
- Maintain quality control standards, address non-conformances promptly, and manage shop floor scrap.
- Calculate labor hours required from master production schedules to balance staffing levels appropriately.
- Leverage ERP systems to track KPIs, monitor floor metrics, and generate routine operational reports.
- Lead 5S and lean initiatives to optimize workflow and eliminate waste across the shop floor.
Minimum Requirements
- 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production plant.
- High school diploma with equivalent technical experience; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Ability to work full-time onsite, 5 days per week on the 1st shift.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate a manufacturing facility daily (standing, bending, reaching).
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years leading teams within an electromechanical assembly or general manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, component joining, soldering, or welding techniques.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or formal continuous improvement frameworks.
- Practical experience utilizing enterprise resource planning (ERP) software for daily production tracking.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA guidelines, standard quality management, and mechanical fabrication.
