Job Title: Import Agent Department: Pharmaceuticals
Salary Range: $19.23 to $28.46 an hour FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Pharmaceuticals Import Supervisor
Location: Chelsea, MA 100% in Office
Position Overview
As an Import Agent you will manage international import shipments from origin to delivery, ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and superior customer service in a deadline-driven logistics environment.
Schedule Note: This role may include rotating weekends and holiday shifts based on operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage international import shipments
- Coordinate with agents, carriers, and customers to meet schedules
- Prepare and submit required customs and import documentation
- Obtain charges, process payments, and secure cargo release
- Track shipments and reconcile required documents
- Resolve delays, damages, and discrepancies
- Arrange final delivery as needed
- Provide client updates and solutions
- Process shipments in the TMS
- Handle temperature-controlled cargo, including re-icing and packaging

The role requires strong attention to detail and effective time-management skills, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, team environment. Successful candidates will demonstrate professional communication and problem-solving abilities and be comfortable interacting with customs officials and regulatory agencies worldwide.
Work Environment
- Work is performed in an office environment with no significant exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
- Requires sustained concentration and attention to detail
- Active participation in conversations occurs amid typical office background noise.
- Frequent visual focus is required for examining paperwork, computer monitors, and keyboards.
- The role requires quick responses to changing circumstances, integrating new information, and adjusting approaches as needed.
- This position involves light work, occasionally requiring exertion of up to 20 pounds for carrying, lifting, pushing, or pulling. Tasks may include sitting, standing, walking, squatting, and twisting as needed.
