F&B Director Job Description

This is a leadership role for a hospitality executive with experience in multi unit food & beverage services. The ideal candidate brings proven experience in a range food service management operations from luxury dining to cultural institutions to multi-unit operations. The F&B Director serves as the leader of hospitality in the venue, partnering closely with culinary & operations leadership, organization stakeholders, colleagues across all food service and event teams, and colleagues in Gourmet Caterers’ leadership.

Summary of Primary Responsibilities

  • The F&B Director is responsible for operational leadership across all dining services, ensuring a high quality and excellent guest service, in line with Gourmet Caterers’ brand and the venue’s guest experience standards.
  • The F&B Director is a primary collaborator to venue leadership and stakeholders, ensuring dining experiences seamlessly complement the venue’s programming and expectations for guest experience
  • Lead and develop a hospitality leadership team including culinary leaders, service leaders, and department heads across full service restaurants, a cafeteria, coffee shops, and catering & events
  • Responsible for financial performance across the food & beverage operations and collaborate with company’s corporate controller and accounting team to optimize financial performance
  • Collaborate with culinary leadership and service management on menu programming, service, beverage programming, and delivering the very best guest experience
  • Set the highest standards for professionalism, hospitality, guest service, and teamwork throughout the hospitality programming
  • Instill safety & service values throughout hospitality programming to make sure operations are safe for colleagues and guests
  • Collaborate with venue’s facilities leadership to troubleshoot and correct any food service equipment or other equipment challenges
  • Lead the hospitality team to make sure operations are highly appealing in terms of offerings and value for daily guests and staff, including a daily cafeteria program, coffee shop program, grab-and-go offerings, and vending
  • Maintain and grow the company’s values including guest experience, safety, wellness, value, inclusion, sustainability, healthy offerings, and performance


Required Qualifications

  • Passionate for hospitality, great food & drink, great service, and guest experience
  • Successful, long standing experience with managing diverse teams in multi-unit operations
  • 10+ years of hospitality leadership, management in multi-unit operations, and client relations
  • Experience in a range of food service management types including fine dining, catering, cafe and quick service restaurants
  • Financial knowledge and experience in P&L ownership of a multi-unit operation
  • Outstanding communication skills, guest & client relations skills, and ability to collaborate with colleagues in leadership across multiple organizations
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business, or related field preferred
  • Deep knowledge of food service operations, food safety, quality control, and allergens
