We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Optical Fabrication Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in optical manufacturing processes, strong measurement and inspection abilities, and a commitment to producing high-quality precision components. This role requires hands-on work, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and production teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform various optical fabrication processes including (but not limited to) blocking, grinding, polishing, curve generation, and final inspection.
• Conduct interferometry measurements on completed optical components to verify surface accuracy and quality.
• Perform visual inspection and manual dimensional measurements using precision gages and metrology tools.
• Read and interpret engineering prints, drawings, and tolerance requirements.
• Document measurements, results, and production information accurately.
• Collaborate with team members to support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in optical fabrication or precision manufacturing preferred.
• Familiarity with interferometry and precision measurement equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and tolerances.
• Strong manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new processes.
