We have an immediate opening for an Equipment Sales Representative.

Job Summary:

The Equipment Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales and business development of Townsend's equipment and large-scale energy solutions across MA, NH, and ME. This includes HVAC systems, commercial generators, and fuel-system equipment. The role combines prospecting, relationship building, and technical sales expertise to deliver growth across Townsend's service lines. This is a full-time, outside sales position based primarily in Danvers, MA.

Position: HVAC Equipment Sales Representative

Pay: $50,000 - $58,000 Base + Commission

Work Hours: Full Time

Location: Danvers MA

What you will be doing:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial, industrial, and residential customers.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, helping customers identify the best equipment and service solutions for their needs.
  • Provide exceptional communication and follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term retention.
  • Represent Townsend's values of integrity, excellence, and service in all customer interactions.
  • Identify, prospect, and qualify new equipment leads within assigned territories (MA, NH, ME).
  • Manage the full sales cycle from discovery and solution design to proposal, negotiation, and close.
  • Collaborate with operations, installation, and technical teams to ensure accurate proposals and seamless project delivery.
  • Participate in trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities to expand business reach.
  • Develop and execute a strategic territory plan to achieve consistent growth.
  • Manage and track all sales activity and maintain sales opportunities through CRM (HubSpot) ensuring data accuracy, notes, and pipeline visibility.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on market conditions, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities.
  • Forecast sales and track progress against goals to support multi-year growth plans.
  • Work closely with the Sales Manager, Chief Growth Officer, and field operations teams to ensure successful project execution.


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in outside equipment or large-ticket solution sales (HVAC, generators, energy systems, industrial equipment).
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
  • Ability to understand and discuss mechanical, electrical, and fuel-system components.
  • Skilled at uncovering pain points, articulating value, and closing deals.
  • Strong autonomy, organization, and follow-through managing multiple accounts and priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Willingness to travel regionally and work flexible hours based on customer needs.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Work may be performed in an office environment and occasionally outdoors in varying temperatures.
