Job DescriptionAbout the Role:Sylvan Learning in Baytown, TX is looking for a talented and detail-driven Accounts Payable Manager to join our finance team! In this key role, you'll oversee the full accounts payable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing while supporting the financial health of our organization. Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice processing and payment disbursements
- Supervise and mentor AP team members, providing guidance and performance feedback
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and accounting standards
- Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to maintain strong working relationships
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including AP accruals
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency within the AP department
Requirements:
- 3+ years of accounts payable experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role
- Strong knowledge of AP processes, general ledger coding, and accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and cross-departmental collaboration
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
