About us: MVYTF is a small non-profit focused on prevention of substance use and risky behavior through promotion of wellness, community connection, and shared values. Our staff values each member’s voice as we work as a team to consistently improve education about substance use and access to healthy, substance-free activities.

Position: Our Youth Program Coordinator will play a major role in the development of a novel outreach program based on our tagline: “powered by youth, backed by community”. They will interact with the school staff and students at MVRHS, the Charter School, and our 4 combined schools. Collaboration with the schools will allow the coordinator to develop education and activity plans for island youth to connect youth to one another and the community while also learning about how fun life can be substance free.

Essential responsibilities:
\n
· Attend training and education on evidence-based programs.
\n
· Collaborate on designing and implement evidence-based prevention initiatives focused on primary substance use prevention. Specifically, this position will focus on reducing the onset and progression of alcohol, nicotine, and cannabis use/misuse by youth and young adults.
\n
· Facilitate youth programming.
\n
· Work flexible hours including afternoons, evenings, and occasional field trips.
\n
· Data collection and basic reporting.
\n
· Create flyers and social media posts related to youth programs.
\n

· Experience with youth and young adult engagement.
\n
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
\n
· Ability to lead discussions, presentations, and community meetings.
\n
· Strong planning and organizational abilities.

· Desire to learn and continue to evolve professionally.
\n
· Commitment to fostering inclusivity and advancing equity through community-centered practices.

· Willing to work September through June.
\n

Required
\n
· High school diploma or GED, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
\n
· Experience working with youth and coordinating programs.
\n
· Valid Massachusetts driver’s license and ability to travel locally.
\n
Salary & Benefits:
\n
· Salary is based on experience.
\n
· $20-27 an hour for 25 hours a week September through June.
\n
· 1 hour of sick time for every 30 hours worked.
