We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented HR and Volunteer Services Assistant to support the administrative functions that help our staff and volunteers succeed.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys office administration, working with people, managing paperwork and records, and keeping processes running smoothly. In this role, you'll provide clerical and administrative support for employee onboarding, volunteer coordination, benefits administration, compliance tracking, and record keeping.

What You'll Do

Volunteer Coordination

  • Coordinate volunteer onboarding and orientation sessions.
  • Ensure volunteer applications, background checks, and required documentation are complete and accurate.
  • Serve as a point of contact for volunteer questions and support requests.
  • Maintain volunteer records and compliance documentation.

HR Administrative Support

  • Support employee onboarding by preparing paperwork, communicating with candidates, and scheduling onboarding appointments.
  • Guide new employees through systems including ADP, Employee Navigator, and NH Connections.
  • Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments, changes, and eligibility tracking.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, databases, and HR tracking systems.
  • Process and track background checks, licensing requirements, and required renewals.
  • Ensure compliance with Form I-9 requirements and assist with periodic audits.
  • Conduct personnel file audits to ensure records are complete and compliant.
  • Assist with workers' compensation claims, unemployment requests, and employment verifications.
  • Prepare reports and provide administrative support related to HR operations.

Office & Customer Service Support

  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee and volunteer inquiries, directing questions to the appropriate resources.
  • Provide general clerical support, including filing, scanning, document management, data entry, and record maintenance.
  • Answer and direct telephone calls professionally.
  • Communicate regularly with Finance and Operations regarding onboarding, payroll updates, and personnel changes.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and organizational information.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.



Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in an administrative or HR support role.
  • Must be organized and have meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and be flexible.
  • Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities efficiently.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly, both written and verbal, to communicate with employees, members of the management team, and in group presentations and meetings.
  • Travel between locations when requested. (Only occasional travel may be required.)
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Dependable, responsive to direction, and open to feedback for continuous improvement
  • Willingness to travel occasionally between program locations


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • All of the candidates who are offered a job with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire will have to submit for an FBI fingerprint background check and submit to a background check through the State of NH Criminal Records Dept. and First Advantage. Note: The State of NH Childcare Licensing Bureau may prohibit you from being employed by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire should there be a disqualifying finding on your criminal record. In addition, even if the State of NH reviews your records and allows you to work at the Club, we still reserve the right to determine your employment status.
