Who are we looking for?
Wilson Farm is hiring a full-time Cut Flower Production Associate to join our Cut Flowers Department. This position starts at $17/hour.
Primary Responsibilities for a Cut Flower Production Associate
· Performs receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying orders using invoices, inspecting quality, reporting shortages, stocking, and rotating product. Adheres to product temperature and storage guidelines and follows proper packaging techniques. Properly conditions and handles all indoor and outdoor plants, shrubs, and flowers. Follows proper processing procedures for all cut flowers.
· Participate in all production of bouquets and arrangements with pre-made recipes
· Maintain production style workflow
· Ability to follow and maintain department standards and quality
· Inspects raw stems prior to production
· Responsible for ensuring proper quality standards for all products within the department are being enforced
· May assist with physical inventory
· Implements correct product preparation techniques. Uses and operates related equipment such as pallet jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, safety cutters, stem cutters, chopper, wire, hot glue guns, and spray paint
· Complies with all workplace safety rules and regulations. Ensures proper pricing
· Ensures safety, cleanliness and sanitation of work area, cooler, equipment, and display area, including code date compliance as required
· Responsible for performing all job duties and responsibilities safely, accurately and with honesty and integrity
· Deliver cut flower orders to customers
· Other necessary and required duties.
Experience/Qualifications needed
· Floral industry experience preferred, but not required
· Ability to work in a fast paced environment while meeting project deadlines
· Must speak English
· Must have Drivers License
Work Schedule
· Full-time (45-50 hours/week). Combination of weekdays and weekend days.
· Holiday periods will require more hours and flexibility in schedule (which is greatly appreciated) to meet business needs.
Physical requirements: (THIS IS A PHYSICAL JOB)
· Ability to stand for extended periods of time
· Ability to lift, load, unload, and move product weighing up to 40 lbs
· Bends, stoops, and reaches frequently
