Step into a day where you keep a high-volume, climate‑controlled food plant humming. At Ken’s Foods in Marlborough, MA, you’ll move from packaging lines to utility rooms to the far corners of the grounds—wherever your skills are needed to keep production safe, efficient, and on schedule.
What you’ll tackle
- Hunt down and resolve mechanical and electrical issues across the facility—don’t wait for breakdowns; prevent them.
- Operate, diagnose, and repair automated packaging equipment.
- Apply pump theory to service, rebuild, and maintain a range of pumps.
- Work with pneumatics and hydraulics: troubleshoot controls, valves, cylinders, and power units.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics to trace faults and restore operation.
- Safely service both low- and high-voltage circuits.
- Diagnose motors, motor controls, and device-level control problems.
- Repair electrical control and power circuits, including PLC-driven and solid-state systems.
- Weld (gas and arc) and solder as needed for robust repairs.
- Support plant utilities: steam, hot water, compressed air, and refrigeration systems.
- Handle basic plumbing and carpentry to keep infrastructure reliable.
- Identify and source parts from OEM manuals and prints; document work clearly and follow oral/written instructions.
What you bring
- 3+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience (or a related blend of training and experience) with a high school diploma/GED or equivalent background.
- Comfort working across mechanical, electrical, and controls domains in a manufacturing setting.
- Ability to pass the Standard Timing Model mechanical test with a score of 60% or higher.
Licensing and growth
For Massachusetts only; Role requires Special to Operate Engineering License (Steam Plant) -- License training will be provided if not already in possession.
