ob Objective & Overview
The primary objective of the Machine Millwright is to install, maintain, rebuild, and repair a wide variety of industrial machines and production equipment. This role is critical for ensuring the operational readiness of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems throughout Ball Plant III (BP3).
Primary Responsibilities

Troubleshooting & Rebuilding (50%): Proficiently troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild all types of mechanical assemblies, including those integrated with electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems (manual or automatic).

Preventive Maintenance (20%): Execute scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) as directed by the equipment schedule.

Fault Isolation (20%): Perform in-depth troubleshooting by expertly isolating and distinguishing sources of problems in production equipment using blueprints, schematics, and communication with operators, engineers, and vendors.

Fabrication & Repair (10%): Perform simple welding, plumbing, and machining tasks.

Administrative: Maintain work records (work orders, PMs, materials) on the computerized Maintenance system and monitor spare parts inventory.

Qualifications & Requirements
Required Experience & Education
-
A minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial equipment repair is required.

Must have a strong technical background.

Trade school diploma is preferred.
Technical Skills & Credentials
-
Demonstrated ability to install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain machinery and equipment.
-
Experience dismantling and moving large stationary industrial machinery (pumps, fans, conveyors, generators, etc.).

Ability to install, troubleshoot, and maintain power transmission, vacuum, and pneumatic systems.
-
Must have basic knowledge of electronic controls.

Working knowledge of general safe work practices.

Proficiency in operating hoisting and lifting devices (cranes, jacks, tractors).

Ability to use blueprints, schematics, measuring devices, and various hand and power tools.

Experience using machine tools such as drills, lathes, and millers.
Highly Valued Skills & Licenses (Preferred, but not all mandatory):
-
Knowledge of hydraulic and/or electrical schematics.

Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and piping.

Possession of an Electrician License (Journeyman or otherwise) or an MA 2nd Class Fireman License.

Universal Refrigeration License.

Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Ability to obtain forklift, pallet-jack, and/or man-lift licenses.
