Job Title: Shipping Supervisor
Reports To: Director of Manufacturing
FLSA Status: Exempt

Division: Durham, NC
Pay Range: $60,000.00 - 65,000.00 Annual
Summary: Responsible for managing the the efforts of all shipping personnel, product movement, processes and systems to insure overall inventory accuracy and support same day / next day philosophies by performing the following duties:
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Position will be responsible for both 1st and 2nd shift responsibilities.
Manages the efforts of shipping personnel responsible for receiving, storing, counting and retrieving inventory to support manufacturing and distribution.
Assists in the preparation of departmental budgets and capital spending forecasts.
Establishes work practices, ISO Operating Procedures and Work Instructions to improve overall performance, insure inventory accuracy, streamline handling, maximize productivity and promote efficient material flow and space utilization.
Insures that all inventory related transactions are recorded in MAS500 as soon as they occur to maintain an accurate perpetual inventory.
Oversees and coordinates physical inventories and cycle counts to provide the organization with both accurate counts and financial valuation.
Utilizes Business Insights to analyze available data and takes appropriate action to resolve potential issues.
Coordinates with order processing, manufacturing, quality and distribution groups to process pick tickets, department request forms, transfers, returns, receipts, inspections, etc. to support same day / next day activities.
Provides planning, direction and coordination for all shipping related activities while achieving optimum use of workers, equipment, materials and facilities.
Develops a shipping team that supports other department’s efforts to provide excellent customer satisfaction.
Remains current on new equipment and material handling techniques to enhance the warehousing capabilities.
Insure that the warehouse facility is maintained according to established 5S Expectations and Safety Guidelines.
Must have valid Driver's License
Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and/or five to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, RF Communications, MAS 500.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises employees in the Shipping Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold (non-weather); extreme heat (non-weather); risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to dust and sawdust.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
