Learning & Development Coordinator (Veterinary Technician)
Bay State Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Services (BSVESS) – Swansea, MA
Bay State Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Services is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team as a Learning & Development Coordinator. This unique role combines hands-on patient care with mentorship, training, and professional development of veterinary assistants and technicians in our fast-paced emergency and specialty hospital.

What You'll Do
- Provide real-time coaching and mentorship to veterinary assistants and technicians
- Lead onboarding and skills development for new clinical team members
- Support competency training in triage, emergency stabilization, ICU nursing care, anesthesia, and critical patient management
- Develop and maintain training guides, skills checklists, and educational resources
- Partner with hospital leadership to identify training needs and support staff growth
- Work scheduled shifts as a Veterinary Technician, maintaining strong clinical involvement and patient care responsibilities
Qualifications
- CVT or equivalent veterinary technician experience
- 5+ years of veterinary experience, preferably in emergency and critical care
- Strong technical skills in triage, anesthesia, ICU nursing, and emergency procedures
- Excellent communication, coaching, and mentorship abilities
- Previous training, leadership, or mentoring experience preferred

- Competitive pay commensurate with education and experience:
- Non-credentialed Techs: $23 to $29
- Credentialed Techs: $25 to $31
- VTS: $29 to $35
- Plus $5/hour shift differential after 8pm for 2nd/3rd shift
