Amalgamated Bank, America’s socially responsible bank, is seeking a temporary Account Executive (“Temp AE”) hired directly by the Bank to work full-time in its Boston Commercial Banking office for an assignment expected to run from October 1 through December 31, 2026. Reporting to the Boston Senior Account Executive (“SAE”) and Senior Vice President (“SVP”), the Temp AE will provide client service and administrative support to the Boston Commercial Banking team. The assignment may be modified or ended earlier based on business needs and does not guarantee employment for the full anticipated term.

This is a nonexempt position paying $24 per hour for a regularly scheduled 37.5-hour workweek. The Temp AE will be paid 1.5 times the regular hourly rate—currently $36 per hour—for each hour worked over 40 in a workweek, as required by applicable law. Subject to the approval of the SAE and SVP, the Bank may permit remote work on Mondays and Fridays, with in-office work in Boston on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The Bank may modify or revoke the hybrid schedule at any time based on business needs.

Subject to satisfactory performance, business needs, and the approval and availability of a permanent Account Executive I position, the Temp AE may apply and be considered for the position through the Bank’s standard selection process. Nothing in this posting guarantees selection for, or continued employment in, any temporary or permanent position.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. With training and guidance from the SAE, develop the skills needed to manage day-to-day relationships with assigned clients.
  2. With training and guidance from the SAE, learn to deliver seamless account-opening and transition services for new Commercial Banking clients moving to Amalgamated Bank, including account setup, cash management enrollment, and online banking training.
  3. With training and guidance from the SAE, observe and progressively participate in the sales, onboarding, and technical training processes for new Commercial Banking clients, providing sales support, product expertise, demonstrations, and pro forma analyses.
  4. Serve as the secondary point of contact for assigned clients, with the SAE as the primary contact, and coordinate with other Bank divisions to resolve client issues.
  5. Maintain accurate client records in centralized shared drives or databases.
  6. Keep the SAE and relevant Commercial Bankers informed of client issues, requests, and growth opportunities.
  7. Review daily overdraft and other account reports, make appropriate decisions, and escalate issues to the SAE or senior management as needed.
  8. Comply with all Bank policies, procedures, and regulations.
  9. Demonstrate strong product knowledge and attention to detail.
  10. Work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  11. Respond promptly to internal and external clients.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements:

  1. Currently pursuing an associate or higher degree through an accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience; coursework in finance or banking is preferred.
  2. Two to three years of experience in a client-facing role.
  3. Ability to accurately read, interpret, and review financial statements.
  4. Ability to adapt and perform effectively in a fast-paced, evolving work environment.
  5. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  6. Working knowledge of Salesforce is preferred.
  7. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  8. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting hourly salary for this role is up to $24.00 an hour. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferrable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Hybrid Work Model
Effective February 18, 2025, employees in office-based positions will be working a Hybrid work schedule consisting of three days or more, on-site per week, Monday - Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence.
