Job Title: Production Technician
Location: North Reading, MA 01864
Duration: 9 Months
Shift: M–F
- 1st Shift: 6:15 AM – 2:45 PM
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Job Overview:
Support the production of complex electromechanical equipment. This role may involve hands-on assembly of robotic components, warehouse material handling, or a combination of both, depending on business needs. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Services to be Performed:
• Prepare for electromechanical assembly by reviewing assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gather parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
• Perform assembly support and material handling tasks including moving, staging, and delivering materials and components to workstations.
• Operate pallet jacks, carts, and other material handling equipment.
• Assist with kitting, labeling, and organization of production parts.
• Support inventory accuracy through proper documentation and scanning.
• Perform assembly, repair, and rework activities as required.
• Follow written work instructions and perform data entry into production systems.
• Conduct quality inspections and document results through production and quality records.
• Adhere to safety protocols and apply general safe practices in manufacturing.
• Maintain inventory levels by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with team members in a team-oriented environment.
• Demonstrate self-motivation, accountability, and strong execution in daily production activities.
Required Skills:
• Ability to stand for 7+ hours per shift.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to read and follow English-language instructions.
• Ability to use handheld scanners.
Preferred Skills:
• 1+ year of manufacturing experience.
• Experience with ERP, MES, or inventory management systems.
• Ability to interpret manufacturing documentation (work instructions, drawings, traveler paperwork).
• Familiarity with safe material handling practices (lifting, staging, carts, PPE).
• Strong accuracy in labeling and documentation.
Basic Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work full shift schedules, including overtime as needed.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills and ability to perform data entry.
• Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.
• Willingness to perform repetitive tasks while standing or sitting for extended periods.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Mechanical aptitude with ability to use power tools and related equipment.
