Job Title: 2nd Shift Loader
Job Description
The 2nd Shift Loader plays a critical role in safely moving and loading heavy doors in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This is a highly labor-intensive position that requires consistent heavy lifting, careful material handling, and strong attention to detail to ensure the correct doors are accurately picked and loaded into the appropriate trucks. No prior experience is required, but you must be reliable, and comfortable performing repetitive, physically demanding tasks throughout your shift.
Responsibilities
- Lift, move, and handle heavy doors throughout the entire shift, including items weighing up to 80 pounds, using team lifting for heavier loads to distribute weight safely.
- Pick and stage doors according to load sheets or instructions, ensuring the correct doors are selected for each order.
- Accurately load doors into the correct trucks, verifying that each door matches the designated shipment and destination.
- Use basic material handling tools such as pallet jacks and hand tools to move and secure products as needed.
- Work closely with a small team of 45 people on the warehouse floor, coordinating tasks in lines or stations to maintain workflow and productivity.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail to prevent loading errors and ensure that all orders are complete and accurate.
- Perform repetitive lifting and movement of materials in a safe and efficient manner throughout the shift.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including the use of required personal protective equipment such as eye protection and high-visibility vests.
- Adapt to changing workload demands and stay until work is completed, which may require working later than the scheduled end time.
- Demonstrate strong reliability by arriving on time, being prepared for work, and maintaining a consistent work ethic each day.
- Assist with general warehouse housekeeping to keep work areas organized and free of hazards.
Essential Skills

- Physical fitness and stamina to perform heavy lifting and repetitive, labor-intensive work for the full duration of the shift.
- Willingness to perform general labor tasks, including loading, unloading, and moving materials in a warehouse environment.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure the correct doors are picked and loaded into the correct trucks.
- Reliability and strong work ethic, including consistently showing up on time and being dependable.
- Flexibility with end-of-shift times, with the ability to stay later when workload requires.
- Comfort working with hand tools and basic material handling equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small team in a production and warehouse setting.
- Comfort working around heavy equipment, doors, and other large materials.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in general labor, production, or warehouse work is helpful but not required.
- Experience in loading, unloading, or material handling is a plus.
- Exposure to furniture installation, furniture manufacturing, or door installation environments can be beneficial.
- Experience using forklifts or other heavy equipment is a plus, though not required for consideration.
- Previous work in landscaping, construction, or other heavy-duty labor roles is advantageous.
- Comfort working with doors, wood products, and related materials in a manufacturing setting.

Work Environment
This role is based in a wood shop manufacturing facility, working primarily in the warehouse area where doors are built, staged, and sent out. The environment can be congested at times, with many doors and materials moving through the space, requiring awareness and safe movement. You will work on the 2nd shift, typically starting between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. and working until around 10:00 p.m., with the possibility of staying as late as around midnight depending on workload. The team structure includes working with approximately 45 coworkers, either in a line or at individual stations, fostering a collaborative and coordinated workflow. Safety equipment such as eye protection and high-visibility vests is required, and closed-toe shoes must be worn, though steel-toed shoes are not required. The role involves continuous physical activity, heavy lifting, and handling of large wooden doors in an active, production-focused warehouse setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
