Job Title: Manufacturing Mechanical Inspector
Location: Worcester, MA 01604
Duration: Temp to Perm
Shift: M-F 7:30am-4pm
· Cannot work outside of department scheduled hours (listed above).
· All candidates must be able to effectively communicate in English as our patterns/blueprints are in English
· All candidates must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
· ALL candidates must be able to pass a background check and drug screen (THC ok)
JOB SUMMARY:
Detail oriented person responsible for ensuring that mechanical components, assemblies, and finished products meet specified quality standards, engineering drawings, and regulatory requirements. The Manufacturing Mechanical Inspector must have experience in Machine Shop and manufacturing environments. A preferred background in precision machining, inspection, and ability to ensure compliance with ISO 9001/ AS9100, reducing defects.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
The requirements listed below are representative of the essential duties required:
· Performs dimensional, physical, and functional inspections per engineered drawings.
· Verifies material certifications, heat treat records and plating/coating compliance.
· Uses observation, measurement and testing to identify faults in materials/manufacturing.
· Performs Machine Shop inspection of First Piece and work in process items.
· Use statistical and analytical methods to test product samples to evaluate.
· Maintains records and forms detailing quality levels, inspection data.
· Assists with calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment.
· Maintains quality records as needed.
· Identifies process issues and works with machinists to improve quality at the source.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY:
· Employees work under general supervision.
· Employee exercises discretion within area of responsibility.
· Employee recommends actions and alternatives to supervisor and others.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
· A general understanding of inspection processes and procedures. Familiarity with ISO-9001 and AS9100 is a plus.
· Required experience using traditional inspection equipment including height gages, calipers, shadowgraph, thread gages, micrometers etc.
· Dexterity and accuracy as needed to operate testing equipment or gages.
· Excellent attention to detail.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Set up and operations of CNC mills, lathes and Visual AV machines.
· Familiar with engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T symbols.
· Ability to Conduct in-process inspections to ensure dimensional accuracy.
· Effective Communication and Collaboration skills to troubleshoot manufacturing issues with quality and engineering teams.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· High School Diploma
· On-the-job experience
· Knowledge of Quality Inspection a must
· College or Technical school courses in Manufacturing, Blueprint Reading or Quality Systems preferred.

· Some areas of the building are not climate controlled.
