Human Resource Assistant
Newburyport MA
$25+ based on experience
Our client located in Newburyport Massachusetts is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Temporary HR professional to support our growing team. In this role, you will assist with the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department, supporting recruiting, onboarding, and employee records management. This is a temporary/contract position lasting approximately 3 months.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Recruitment Support: Post job openings, screen resumes, and schedule interviews for hiring managers.
- Onboarding: Facilitate the new hire process, process new hire paperwork, and conduct orientation.
- Employee Records: Maintain accurate, confidential employee files and update the HR Information System.
- Benefits & Payroll: Assist employees with basic benefits inquiries and help prepare payroll data for processing.
- General Admin: Draft internal HR communications, respond to employee queries, and assist with special HR projects as needed.
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field experience. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification strongly preferred
- Experience: 2 years of experience in HR support or administrative role.
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Strong proficiency with MS Office and HRIS platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, high emotional intelligence, and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
