LKM Industries is a leader in precision machining and fabrication, delivering components to demanding industries. We’re looking for a Machine Operator / Technician who can support multiple machining & finishing processes and help keep production flowing.
Position overview
As a Machine Operator, you’ll assist with machine operation, setup, maintenance, and overall shop support. You’ll work closely with CNC operators, quality, and engineering teams to ensure smooth production.
Key responsibilities
- Load/unload machines (milling, turning, grinding, etc.)
- Assist in machine setups (fixtures, tooling, alignment)
- Monitor machine operation and alert to issues
- Perform inspection & quality checks under direction (gauges, calipers, etc.)
- Maintain and clean machinery, work area, tooling
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks
- Help with material handling, finishing, deburring, and part preparation
- Follow safety protocols, shop practices, and lean/5S procedures
Qualifications / skills
- Some experience in a manufacturing / machine shop environment preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to use measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
- Reliability, good attendance, ability to follow instructions
- Good attention to detail, ability to work with tolerances
- Willingness to assist in multiple areas and support team as needed

Company DescriptionTo produce machined parts that conform to specifications by setting up and running CNC machines with the ability to make basic edits to CNC programs.
1. All team members will show the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, maintain appropriate communication with colleagues/mentors, and work cooperatively to meet production goals.
2. Maintains safe operation by adhering to safety procedures, including start up and shut down of the machines assigned
3. Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, follows manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshoots malfunctions
4. Runs multiple CNC machines, as assigned
5. Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
6. Is able to perform offsets and change tooling while a job is running
7. Has knowledge of standard inspection equipment
8. Operates machine tools to include CNC and manual lathes; CNC and manual milling machines; and grinders
9. Participates in training of less experienced machine operators.
10. Positions and secures work pieces to holding devices, machine tables, chucks, centers or fixtures
11. Completes full set up of equipment, working from set up instructions
12. Knowledge of setting collets, guide bushings, and cutting tools as needed
13. Maintains a well ordered work station, performs routine chip removal, cleaning down of equipment.
14. Maintains tools, gages, and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe manner
15. Documents actions by completing production and quality logs
16. Maintains continuity among staff by documenting and communicating actions, reports irregularities to other appropriate staff, with attention to continuous improvement.
17. Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to ISO quality.
18. Performs other related duties as assigned.
