Mid-Atlantic Territory Manager


Title: Mid-Atlantic Territory Manager

Reports to: Region Manager – Food Service


Summary of Position:

Manage the overall execution of Bake’n Joy’s strategic priorities for the Mid-Atlantic Foodservice market, including the sale of Bake’n Joy products to existing distributor and operator customers and expanding the business to new distributor and operators.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a sales territory within a designated Metro- NY/NJ, Eastern NY State market including distributors and operator customers, including Sysco, PFG, USF, Driscoll Rest Depot and independent distributors
  • Train, support and oversee broker staff in market. Including creation and implantation of sales objectives. Monitor execution of objectives through planned market visits, business reviews and meetings.
  • Collaborate with base and “white space” customers to assist in their efforts to increase customer traffic, revenue and gross profit
  • Develop a strong working rapport with the owners and key leaders of each priority operator
  • Spearhead new product and menu ideation sessions with strategic and targeted customers
  • Partner with BNJ internal stakeholders on the marketing and R&D teams to successfully launch new products
  • Provide accurate and timely forecasts as a part of the Sales & Operations Planning process
  • Proactively seek personal development opportunities to elevate competencies and skills
  • Collaborate with marketing team to support key customer business development needs
  • Assist the region manager and other team members to support important distributor and industry events (foods shows).
  • Execute Trimester sales initiatives and objectives
  • Maintain sales records through daily CRM management (customer calls, pipeline opportunities, customer contact information, sales forecasts, etc.
  • Troubleshoot customer problems arising in a timely and effective manner.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of company products, systems and services
  • Effective time management and strong working knowledge of MS Outlook (Contacts, scheduling) and MS Teams (communication, scheduling) and PowerPoint presentations
  • Maintain up-to-date files and portfolios of company sales literature, product specifications, promotions, samples and price lists.
  • Complete monthly sales reports and weekly expense reports on time
  • Effectively collaborate with internal departments, including customers service, finance, marketing and sales operation
  • Manage all trade shows, sales meetings, business reviews, and negotiate marketing programs and activities for designated distributors[DJ1] and operators
  • Understand all safety rules and procedures and follow them at all times.
  • Proactively communicate key competitor initiatives and new product rollouts

Requirements

  • College education or equivalent to 5 years of sales experience in the baking or related industry working for a food manufacturer.
  • Must be a problem solver, goal oriented and demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner.
  • Proven ability and experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint ) and other current Technology tools (CRM).
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, self-starter and personable.
  • Passion for baking, customer service and teamwork
  • Strong selling and negotiation skills
  • Ability to lift 50# bakery mix bags
  • 30% overnight travel requirement


Compensation:

The typical starting salary range for this position is $70,300-$125,800/year. Several factors, including skills, experience, education, certifications, and the location of the job will determine the actual pay offered. The salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for associates in these positions.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
