Pay: $35-$40/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday

We are seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Processor / Junior Underwriter to join a growing lending team. This is an excellent opportunity for a lending professional with experience processing residential home equity loans who is looking to expand their underwriting knowledge. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and knowledgeable in residential lending regulations and loan processing from application through closing.

Responsibilities

  • Process residential home equity loan applications from initial disclosure through closing.
  • Review loan documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Order and review appraisals, title work, flood certifications, and other required documentation.
  • Verify income, assets, credit, and collateral information.
  • Calculate debt-to-income (DTI) and loan-to-value (LTV) ratios.
  • Prepare Closing Disclosures and issue clear-to-close authorizations.
  • Communicate with borrowers and internal teams regarding loan status and outstanding conditions.
  • Assist with underwriting residential loan files and make recommendations within established guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with TRID, ECOA, HMDA, Fair Lending, and other applicable regulations.
  • Prepare reports for management and support ongoing lending operations.
  • Maintain accurate loan files and documentation throughout the lending process.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of residential mortgage or home equity loan processing experience.
  • Experience processing loans from application through closing.
  • Knowledge of home equity lending products and residential lending regulations.
  • Exposure to underwriting or credit analysis is highly preferred.
  • Experience using Loan Origination Systems (Encompass preferred) and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple loan files simultaneously.
  • NMLS registration preferred or ability to obtain.
