The Opportunity

A global industrial manufacturer is seeking an experienced Materials & Purchasing Manager to lead supply chain and production planning operations at a specialized aerospace manufacturing facility in Keene, NH. This is a high-visibility plant leadership role driving materials strategy, inventory performance, and on-time delivery for a complex, precision manufacturing environment. The facility is undergoing a $25M capital investment and expanding its workforce — making this an exceptional time to step in and shape operations at scale.

    Your Day-to-Day

    • Lead and develop Materials Management teams spanning Production Planning, Scheduling, Logistics, and Inventory Control
    • Drive the SIOP process, translating market demand into achievable production schedules and capacity plans
    • Build and execute plant-level material planning strategies covering procurement, inventory management, material flow, outsourced processing, packaging, and customer shipments
    • Monitor schedule attainment and plant capacity, keeping operations balanced and identifying future resource needs
    • Lead initiatives to improve on-time delivery, reduce past-due orders, and strengthen supply chain execution
    • Design and implement inventory strategies that optimize service levels while reducing working capital and excess stock
    • Champion Lean supply chain initiatives, eliminating waste and improving material flow throughout the operation
    • Develop supplier strategies that ensure consistent quality, reliable delivery, and stable material supply
    • Translate customer demand into executable master production schedules within operational capacity constraints
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Quality, Operations, and Finance to align commitments and resolve supply chain issues
    • Support the Plant Manager in identifying throughput improvements and cost reduction opportunities; serve as occasional Plant Manager backup

    What We're Looking For

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field
    • Proven leadership experience managing materials, planning, or supply chain functions in a manufacturing environment
    • Hands-on experience with production planning, capacity modeling, and master scheduling in complex operations
    • Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems — SAP strongly preferred
    • Solid understanding of inventory control, logistics coordination, and supplier management
    • Experience applying Lean manufacturing or Lean supply chain principles
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to convert operational data into clear, actionable decisions
    • Effective communicator and collaborator across operations, finance, sales, and supply chain
    • APICS certification and/or MBA preferred

    Ready to Apply?

This role offers the rare combination of strategic scope, meaningful capital investment, and a leadership team committed to continuous improvement. If you're a supply chain and planning professional ready to take ownership of materials operations in an aerospace manufacturing environment, we want to hear from you.
