Position: Payroll Manager – Individual Contributor position
Location: Greater Boston Area (Fully In‑Office)
Compensation: $120,000–$140,000 base salary + benefits (they cover 100% of medical premiums)

The Payroll Manager’s responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

- Manage end‑to‑end payroll processing for a mixed employee population (including Union Employees), ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain payroll records and employee data in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure proper calculation and administration of wages, overtime, deductions, and garnishments.
- Coordinate payroll tax filings, reconciliations, and year‑end reporting activities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll‑related questions from employees and internal partners.
- Support audits and reporting needs while identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and controls.

Qualifications:
\n

- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
- Demonstrated experience processing union payroll, including familiarity with collective bargaining agreements, wage classifications, fringes, deductions, and certified payroll requirements.
- Direct, in‑house payroll processing experience, with full ownership of payroll operations rather than reliance on an external payroll provider.
- Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local wage and hour regulations, payroll tax requirements, and compliance standards.
- Experience supporting payroll in a complex, high‑volume, or project‑based environment.
- Proficiency with payroll systems, timekeeping platforms, and Excel for reconciliations and reporting.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet strict payroll deadlines.
- Professional, discreet communicator with a proven ability to handle highly confidential employee information.
