Job Title: Extrusion Machine Operator

Job Description

This role operates extrusion machines in a clean production environment, following verbal and written instructions to support manufacturing and general production activities. The position involves standing for extended periods, performing basic assembly and molding tasks, and contributing to a collaborative team focused on safe and efficient output.

Responsibilities

  • Operate extrusion machines safely and efficiently according to verbal and written work instructions.
  • Set up, monitor, and adjust extrusion equipment to maintain consistent product quality.
  • Perform general production and assembly tasks as needed to support overall manufacturing output.
  • Follow detailed instructions for molding, picking, and handling materials throughout the production process.
  • Use basic math skills to perform measurements, counts, and simple calculations related to production tasks.
  • Assist with general labor duties such as staging materials, organizing work areas, and supporting other production operations.
  • Monitor equipment performance and promptly report issues, abnormalities, or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Operate forklifts or other material-handling equipment if qualified and authorized.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals, maintain workflow, and support continuous improvement.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, quality standards, and standard operating procedures during every shift.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience operating extrusion machines, including setup, monitoring, and adjustment.
  • Comfort standing on feet for approximately 8 hours per day in a production environment.
  • Hands-on experience in general production, machine operation, or general labor roles.
  • Ability to perform basic assembly and molding tasks in a manufacturing setting.
  • Basic math skills to support measurements, counting, and production-related calculations.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools, machinery, and production equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness and ability to follow detailed verbal and written work instructions accurately.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Extrusion experience is a must for at least one of the available roles.
  • Experience with forklift operation or other material-handling equipment.
  • Experience or education in chemistry or a chemical-related field is a plus.
  • Experience in molding, picking, or similar production processes.
  • Strong communication skills and reliability in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean production facility with a focus on safety and organization. Typical shifts run from approximately 5:00 or 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., requiring the ability to stand for most of the shift and perform hands-on tasks with extrusion equipment and related machinery. The environment includes general production areas, molding operations, and material-handling activities, with appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment provided or required as needed.

This is a Contract position based out of Wilmington, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
