Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Newton, Massachusetts. This long-term contract position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a dynamic company within the printing and publishing industry. As a key member of the accounting team, you will work closely with the Controller to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes while supporting organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate recording of cash receipts across multiple platforms to ensure financial accuracy.
• Process vendor and consultant invoices promptly and accurately.
• Generate and distribute customer invoices for various departments, collaborating with Client Service Coordinators and utilizing Salesforce data.
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries, and reconcile bank and other accounts.
• Compile and present financial reports on weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and annual bases for management review.
• Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts to maintain accurate financial records.
• Update and manage the internal "Trend Chart" database, preparing detailed reports for Controller and management.
• Assist with additional tasks and responsibilities as required to support the accounting team.• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required, with a solid understanding of revenue recognition principles.
• At least 5 years of accounting experience with a strong focus on detail.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks; experience with Salesforce or similar systems is preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in month-end closing processes.
• Familiarity with accruals, deferrals, and prepaid expenses.
• Proven ability to handle multiple payment platforms and integrations.
• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
