About the Role:
The Pre-press technician plays a critical role in the non-durable goods manufacturing process by creating print-ready proofing and using workflows for files per customer specs to ensure optimal printing. This position requires a thorough understanding of digital file formats (pdf, tiff, eps, len) to produce consistent and defect-free printed materials. The candidate must be proficient in Mac OS and various graphic applications (Illustrator, Esko, ArtPro, etc.). The Pre-press technician is responsible for maintaining safety protocols and ensuring compliance with operational guidelines to minimize downtime and waste. Ultimately, this position contributes directly to the efficiency and success of the manufacturing line.
What you’ll do as a Pre-Press technician:
Principle Duties
Apply all traps, overprints, knockouts, etc. and use workflows for files per customer specs to ensure optimal printing.
Adjust files to match customer specs including step and repeat, distortions and cutbacks.
Place proper marks, color bars, distortion, scales, etc. on files per customer specs.
Create print-ready PDF's for proofing, imposition and production manufacturing.
Check work to ensure all marks and colors are correct.
Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; offer solutions
Report errors or discrepancies in files to the Account Manager.
Review all work carefully for completeness and accuracy before sending to QC department.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
We’re looking for a Pre-Press Technician with:
1-3 years of experience as a prepress operator experience
Proficiency in Mac OS and various graphic applications (Illustrator, Esko, ArtPro, etc.)
Thorough understanding of digital file formats (pdf, tiff, eps, len)
Strong attention to detail while working as quickly and accurately as possible.
Ability to produce accurate, thorough, professional work on time and as scheduled.
Ability to output digital files to various proofing devices and workflows
Ability to read and understand instructions.
Able to meet deadlines, work under pressure and problem solve.
3-5 years of experience as a prepress operator preferred

Physical requirements and working conditions:
Our manufacturing Plant is comprised of enclosed office and manufacturing space. This position requires the ability to:
• Routinely transfer materials and objects up to 25 pounds, bending, pushing, reaching
• Work effectively in teams with good communication skills
• This Pre-Press Technician position is located on-site in our East Longmeadow Facility
